Today is our 4th wedding anniversary and we're not doing anything. No fancy gifts, no dinner out. We can't afford it, and that's ok.
Every special day is shrouded in consumerism that is unnecessary and extravagant. The best anniversary gift I could receive is my husband getting on board with my frugal plan. He puts me in a position where I have to argue about his purchases, which is not fair. I need support in not spending money too, which I'm not getting.
